OUR IDEA

We love video montages as much as we love the tv and movie shows that we create them from. We decided to showcase the AMAZING TALENT around the world!

There is nothing like watching your favourite moments in a tv show like Smallville, Vampire Diaries, Twilight, Greys Anatomy or Supernatural and seeming them weaved together with your favourite artists song. It envokes emotion in people viewing it and inspires creativity. We truly believe that there are lots of people who have created tv montages and movie montages already, and there are buckets of people who enjoy watching them. Yet trying to find the best ones in among the mediocre ones can be super time consuming! So what we have done is create a site where we organize and display videos based on tv and movie shows that are stored on youtube, and provide a voting system that allows YOU the viewer to determine which videos are the best!

A MONTHLY COMPETITION

First and foremost our desire is to simply display montages but…

We thought it would be good to make it fun for people and give them the option of winning a prize for all their hardwork? Sure we love to create these because it’s our passion, but it makes it even more exciting if there is the potential of having a chance at winning a prize each month. So that is what we will be doing. Each month we will select a 1st prize winner and a runner up. If the site builds up a large fanbase, we will develop even more runner up prizes. We hope we can do that.

WHAT CAN BE WON?

Initially it will be Amazon Gift Certificates, as its fast and easy to deliver to people and it allows them to choose what they want as a gift. To begin with it will  allow you to purchase CDS, DVDS and BOOKS. Over time as we gain sponsors, we will look at increasing the size of prize values to include things such as: ipods, ipads, laptops and other freakin snizzelly items.

WHAT YOU NEED

• A valid youtube account
• The video must have been uploaded to your youtube channel with embed enabled, only the channel owner will be contacted if they win. That way it avoids people saying a video belonged to them.
• For any new videos you make, please make sure that the description area of your video in youtube has the words together  bestvideomontage.com  that way we can find quickly your videos and display them for inclusion in the voting process. Be sure to provide a nice description of what the video is about, tell us what song you have used, and how long it took you to create the video.
• For new videos you upload, please can you include in the TAGS when you tag your video the word    bestvideomontage   without any spaces that way we can find it fast.
• When you name your video for youtube, be sure to keep the title of your video as unique as possible, so that it’s not over looked. If everyone has the title “Clark and Lana Season 1″ only 1 video will be displayed with this title, so keep your title unique, even put your username in it if you want.
• If you want us to include ALL of your video montages that you have done in the past or recently in one go. Please contact us and provide us with your username, channel url and we will try to accomodate that for you.

HOW WE DISPLAY YOUR VIDEOS

Each day we search youtube and add old and new montages, in the rare case you don’t see your video displayed on our site and it’s been up on youtube, just shoot us a email using our contact form with your youtube channel name and a link to it and we will make sure to get them displayed.

THE VOTING PROCESS

You can rate for multiple videos within the Movie and TV categories, similiar to what can be done on Youtube, where users can vote up or down. While you can vote for multiple vidoes in any given month, you can only vote ONE TIME for a particular video. For example, let’s say you vote for a Smallville video, a Movie Video and then later in the month you see another smallville video, well certainly you can vote for that one, but you cant vote multiple times for one video over and over again. It’s one vote per video in a month, this way it prevents people from inflating just one video.  We want to keep it fair, it should be fun and everyone should have a chance to win.  We do keep track of IPs and so we can see if someone is trying to inflate their own video .  On the last day of the month we will see which 2 videos have got the highest number of votes and a 1st prize and runner up prize will be awarded to them.  If 2 videos get equal number of user votes, it will be based on the actual total ratings. We will then reset the votes on all videos upon selection so that the voting process can begin again for the next month. Now in the next month you can always vote again for the same video you voted for in the previous month if you wish, though there is a good chance you will want to see someone else win.

HOW TO VOTE

View one of the videos and then right below the video description you should see a 10 star rating bar that looks like this. Just decide what you think the video deserves in a rating. You don’t have to vote for a video if you dont want to, only the ones you think are really good. You also shouldn’t give every video you vote a rating of 10. Consider all factors such as quality, the message, the music, the sequences, the emotion etc. 10 is excellent, 5 would be average and 1 would be low.

Link to your video here on the site from your blog, twitter, facebook , google buzz and youtube. Show people where they can go to vote for you.
